OKAY heres the Card

I worked all day picked up paper, put down paper, cut paper, picked up another paper, cut paper, put other paper away. This went on for an hour. Then the embossing folder that was a tad bit easier. Played with some ink before actually putting it on the card embossing flower. Finally picked out another paper or two and finally chose one. I had cut many papers. LOL. then going through all my drawers and pulling things out to add. Figure couldn't have too much so pulled out a lot. That sure makes it hard to decide what to finish with. Anyways added iroc gems and that was probably the easiest part. Added 4 green sparkle (glitter) gems. I luv my iroc. Anyways Here is the final Card. WOW I am so impressed at all those people who pump out a few cards in one day. One was a forever task for me. The coloring is easy and the card is hard. What do you think????

What to do. What to do. Coloring is the easier part of the whole card process. I luv to color and play with my images and pencils (and gamsol). The hard part is figuring out what I want to do with my colorings. You wouldn't beleive it but I have a zip lock baggy full of coloring. LOL. I am finding some use for some of them but I just keep coloring. So here are a couple of my colorings. Let me know what you think.

She reminds me of Joes Niece. Such an innocent face. CUTE. luv this stamp.

I am not totally done with her I just noticed I didn't finish her shoes LOL. and I didn't stickle her wings or her white part of her dress. Gotta go back and do that now.

Saturday All Day Crop ~ YAY!!

Okay I finally figured out what kind of card to make out of Edwin. YAY I really like this layout. Came out half way decent.

Here is a little tiny notebook I bought from walmart. Joe needs to keep notes for work so I decided to take the Magnolia Monkey (I have colored about 5 of them) and some paper I spray with ink spray (blues and greens) and used Velveteen paper inside the cover. Joe luvs monkeys so this was perfect. Came out really cute. Joe luved it. Took it already to put in his pocket for his notes. YAY.

Also at this same crop the main reason for going was to finally get started on my sons recipe book. He lives so far away and if I can explain recipes to him on paper he might have a fighting chance at hunger. LOL. At least he can get away from macaroni and cheese. I have a funny story. I sent him hamburger helper cause I figured he would at least have food all day out of one box. He called me and asked what he needed. Went to the store got the hamburger. When he called me he asked how much does he need to cook. I said the whole pound. HE SAID WHAT. that is a lot and it was expensive. LOL. I said it makes a lot and you can store the rest and reheat it and have food for more than one sitting. he said OH. so now he knows how to make hamburger helper with a whole pound of hamburger. LOL. Silly boy.

Oh do I luv Edwin with Stolen Heart. I am going to plan my card for this image. I just luv coloring. I was so undecided what colors to use on him. My son likes blue but I like green. So I started out coloring him with blue every other stripe and then picked out another blue to do the other stripes and just couldn't color or pick that other blue. Then I seen that green just sitting there and I figured why not. I used stickles on his heart. I luv stickles. Enjoy...

My bestest friend Denice made me this awesome book to relive our wonderful time we had on my birthday. I went to my first scrapbook expo with Denice and 2 new friends I met the day before. WOWWEEE. This is the best present ever. Here are a few pages from it. YAY. This was the best birthday ever. YAY. Thanks for making it the most wonderful day for me. I so much enjoyed making new friends and spending time with you all. Was great laughs too. LOL. YAY.

I can now post my color charts. I made one using the copic colors and 2 with the prisma pencils colors. THANK YOU DENICE for this wonderful Idea which lead me on to the techniques book. I SO LUV this. My Friend Denice is the one who created the first color chart and gave me instructions. So my first attempt at a book. SO MUCH FUN.

Here is the copic color chart I made for a swap I was in for my new friend Tracie. As you can see those are the only colors I own on the front page that is colored in. TEE HEE.

Can't wait till that pile of leaves are done they are going to be all different colors since it is Fall 2011. Very colorful when done HOPEFULLY....

Here is a book of techniques I created for my mother "Dotti" of things that I have learned over the past couple of years either through classes, websites or from a special friend "Denice". YAY. So I made 4 books. Of course I kept one, sent one to denice gave one to a friend at work and made it especially for my mother for christmas. YAY. So here is the book I made.

This is the front cover of my techniques book. I sprayed ink on the board (a couple of them I painted) then I added modge podge the glitter one. I luv sparkle can you tell.

This one is one of the ones I painted with two different colors then sprayed copper glimmer mist and then modge podge regular no glitter. Then My first introduction page WAS SO MUCH FUN. I used the cricut to cut out the clock, used black marker to color in the clock hands, stickles on the clock weight and then glossy accents to the clock face to make it look like it was behind glass. Pretty cool. The words are a combination of cricut letters and computer printout.

Here is an up close look at the clock.

Inking ~ took paper and put into a cardboard box. Spray either memory mist or glimmer mist over box and the paper catches the sprays. I cut each out out showing the different borders as well. See above.

Here is the watermark page. It is used for backgrounds. SOOO COOL. one of the first techniques classes I took.

Embossing is so much fun. There are so many types of embossing powers and colors out there. even puffy ones like the one I did with the reindeer.

Chalking was by accident. I went to make some cards and the store had you make most of your cards there before taking the rest home to put together. One card had chalking on dark paper. WHOO HOO how awesome was that. I fell in luv with chalking.

Here is a technique I learned on the internet. So dang cool. I played around with my images and paper and the bleach and this is what I got.

Here is a page that took me awhile to figure out how I was going to show different types of distressing papers. It came out pretty neat I think. YAY.

This was one of my most favorites to Monkey with. FLOCKING. So dang cool. ON the hat I used chunky glittery and white flock mixed together for the rim and ball. So soft.

Here was one that I did last cause I had no idea what I was going to do. Figured it out though. Flower is punched and stitched by hand, second layer is sewn by sewing machine, third is marker stitching which I luv.

This was all the embellishments that I could think of to use on just one page to show the different types of things you can use and not be tooo chunky. I so luv my iroc which put the hearts on the page.

I went to a make and take at our local scrapbooking store "Northwood Memories". They held 2 of them the past two saturdays. The 10th of December we did tags and a few cards.

Pam showed us many many ideas. First of all we used paper that was sprayed with memory Mist and a stencil in the background. This was our background paper. Then we matted a photo added a snowflake (purchased at walmart in I believe a package of 30 snowflakes). Then we used a couple scraps of paper to make this wonderful tree and then stamped season greetings on it. WAAA LAAA. A Card. The Winter Card we also used memory mist paper for the backgrou

OOPS how did he get there. Mr. Scrooge didn't bring candy canes this year. HA HA I got his picture though. LOL. He came to visit us while we were doing our card making. So I picked on him about the candy canes. LOL. He said OH you were here last year in the class YUP I WAS. wheres my candy cane? LOL oh on my tree.

I colored in the bulbs stamps with colored pencils. COOL huh.

These two cards were made from a paper bag. The side of the paperbag is the dotted paper and I added the snowflakes and the penquin and snoman is from the front and back of the paperbag. COOL BEANS.

Here are some new wonderful pages that we did in class. And Look I added pictures again. YAY. Not all pictures are there yet but this is from Our Fall Walk. YAY. I was looking through my class bag and found the hunting dog in there so I added it. I have some leaves to add that I took pictures of in my yard. They have frost outlining the oak leaves and it is so pretty. And YUP I gotta write on this page cause I know exactly what we were doing. LOL we took a walk behind our house on the trails. So pretty out that day.

We removed the parquet flooring piece by piece with a hammer and pry-bar. Took a long time to remove but to get a new and better floor it was well worth it. YAY. So excited. Sept 24, 2011.

Old Parquet flooring. Soft wood can't use water on it or do anything because it marks up really bad.

Another Fantastic Technique at a cardmaking class

We have done another fantastic technique using Window mini blinds and alcohol inks from Tim Holtz. Can you believe that the card with the trees has mini blinds on it? The trees are cut out of mini blinds and the sign is from a mini blind. Also the books markers of course are made from mini blinds. The leaf is cut out of a dollar store cutting mat. We then inked it and stamped them. How awesome. Just look.

Here are the bookmarks and tags. They came out so cute. We used the alcohol inks in a pen to write.

This wolf card was stamped and then we used 50% water and 50% bleach in a water pen and where the lighter colors are is where we used the pen. So cute. Gotta make more of these. Luv them.

I bought this Polaris Ranger AKA "Range Woofer" (as my friend helped me name it LOL thanks Denice!!) and everytime I try to tell someone they think I got a truck or something. NO WAY. I got a bush vehicle, doggy vehicle, Butt saver vehicle best ever. I even like to drive it. We took it for our first drive and with Our precious being so scared we tied her down so she won't jump. The other two were okay, at least we thought. Got past the swedetown pond (of course where birds and water is and having a bird/water dogs - you get the picture). We have a jumper. Miss Princess jumped out while we were driving (that is not safe princess you can't do that) and looked behind and she was trying to figure out which pond to jump into. UGH! stopped the vehicle and called her back. GEESH!!!. So she got tied down. Other than that it was a fun ride. Funny though we let them swim at another pond and on the way back with the dusty trails they all needed baths. LOL. Oh well it is fun. We all had a blast.

Here is a Birthday Card I made especially with my mother in mind for her birthday. She luvs the dream-catcher. YAY. And she luvs turquoise. But it came out more blue. Need more colored pencils. Darn it. Oh well. Maybe for xmas I will get the huge big giant prismacolor premier colored pencils from my huny has 132 colors. Anyways I luv coloring with my pencils. YAY.

Well, Since we didn't buy the house next door we decided to put up a privacy fence on the side and on the back. But this year could only afford the side. Next year I will put it on the back. OH BOY. what fun. The dogs just don't know what to think of it since they use to bang into the fence to see the neighbors dogs. GEESH!. LOL. Oh well. Here is the fence.

I had this fence up since Jordan was 2 years old. So 18 years ago this fence was put up.

Clothspin Bag

OH! OH! I just finished this clothespin bag. I just luv making these clothespins bags and attaching them to either old or current wooden hangers. They are so fun and great to create. I luv picking out the colors to match the person I make them for. Picking out the material and trying to imagine it all together is tricky. So it is still a surprise to me how it will turn out until I get it all together and I really luv this one.

GOODELL OIL Genealogy Poster for business

Goodell Oil Company was started by my great grandfather Horatio Stuart Goodell. He started the business because the miners needed oil for their lamps. It grew into a big business. Today the oil business is not like it use to be so the Goodell Oil Company is no longer. BUT my brother Donald is opening his own auto business as he is so good with his hands and mind with Autos, boats and other moving vehicles. Because I am so into our genealogy I put together this history of the Goodell businesses ending with Donalds Business card that I created. I am so proud of my brother. MORE to come on the business. YAY. Anyways here is the poster. Luv you Donald.

Pages Without Pictures

As always these classes are so much fun. I go and angle my photo spots all the time. I don't like everything straight all the time. I like it to be different. This is the left side of the book and below is the right side of the book. Now to decide what pictures to put on these pages. Hmmmm. Oh well.

I think the hardest thing about doing this type of class is you plan the page but now I have to figure out what pictures to use. Again I unstraightened my photo spots. They came out kind of neat I think. This is the left side of the book and below is the right side of the book.

Polished Stone Class

This class was so cool. we used ink and inked up glossy cardstock. When it is dry then you stamp your image and decorate. Besides the ink we used Galaxy gold, copper and silver. That gave it a cool look. See images.

MY Favorite one. Luv the floss we added. This was made with 3 color inks and Galaxy gold. Isn't he just majestic...

Perfect Pearls Class

This class was so much fun. I finally learned how to use my perfect pearls. This one we put pearl perfect pearls into a dollar store watercolor paint palette added water and painted our stamped images. SOOO COOL.

This card we used versamark to stamp our image then we inked the page up with purple and blue. Look how the stamp resisted the ink. This was done on glossy paper.

This Card with the Moose we stamped our images and then added the perfect pearls and then brushed off the excess. The copper color was soo cool. on the moose part we put perfect pearls in a little bit of water brushed it on heated it to dry it quickly then stamped the moose. The Moose is stamped with ink.

I also have a lighthouse card that I forgot to take pictures of and it was stamped and then we used perfect pearls and brushed the excess off. Quick and easy and beautiful. Will add the picture once I take it. LUV IT.

Faux Leather and Cork tags Cards

Here are some cards using liquid applicator, many inks which made it look and feel like faux suede leather. The liquid applicator you squeeze a little out on wax paper, use the brayer and brayer your paper once only. Use the heater to dry the paper. Then you start with lighter inks and work you way to the darker inks (it was a yellow, orange, amber, and two other browns). Then you stamp your image on the paper after it is all dried. If feels like suede. So Cool.

The other card we used cork tags. We stamped tag stamps and the letters or sayings and cut them out and they already had adhesive on the back. I LUV THESE. I gave Joe my cork tag card. LOL.

Here is a dozen cards (not all posted yet) that I got as kits from our local scrapbooking store. (the only one we have).

Very First Card Class

This is the very first card class my mother and I attended. We learned a lot since we have never made cards before. The flowers are stamped with versamark and then we chalked the colors on. The swirly design is versamark stamped then we used a brayer to ink over the image. You can also use clear embossing powder on the image and the design would pop out even more. The two birds are stamped with versamark and black embossing powder. The background is just versamark. The last one with one bird is the background is stamped and we embossed with clear embossing powder and then sprayed with ink. Very Very fun class.

Ohhhh, I had so much fun creating these cards. We first embossed our stamped images with either silver or gold embossing powers. Then we used the Le Plume markers and water and Smooch. How cool is that. I now need some stamps. I sure loved taking this class.

With the help of my new forestry friends I was able to open up my office and breath again. WHEW. Just look at all this room I have now. Notice my name on the door. YAY. My door now opens. and Jordan look I have plenty of space for a new drawing HINT HINT. LOL. And just look at that owl. He came with my office and my mother always says they are good luck so he is staying. AND AND I have a window. Just look at that view. AND YES that is a bird feeder in the window. I am feeding the birds. And those trees were beautiful this fall. Kind of got a blurry picture. But you get the picture.

I was picked to do the invites at the last minute. What do you think? I am still putting them together. I used printmaster version 18 to created the invite. Cut them out with the Fiskar rotary cutter and added blue paper in the background, punched holes and added 2 ribbons.

I had so much fun learning how to make a Tri Shutter Card for my New Found friend. I did this for a swap on the cricut board that I was in. I luved it so much I had to make one for myself. But now I got the one she made which is soooooo Beautiful that i will have to put hers out on my new desk (when I get it that is).

Here are some cuts I made also for my swap partner. I really enjoy using my cricut and embellishing them. My favorite was the santa. He was fun to make and so was tinkerbell and her butterfly.

This is my Son Jordan and he loves creating with the computer with videos. He films and edits and then shares his videos with his friends. He has done this for about 4 years now. Awesome job Jordan. He is now in Schaumburg Illinois going to the Art Institute for film editing. Thats my boy!!!

Hello and welcome to Marjis Stuff Blog. I love photography, genealogy, camping and crafting (scrapbooking, quilting, crocheting and working with my cricut). So from time to time I will be posting my pictures and info to this blog. Oh Yeah and also pics of my Beautiful Springer Spaniels. I have 3 Springer Spaniels - Princess (of the Mountain Top) a liver and white Springer, Precious (star in the sky) a black and white tri colored Springer and last but not least Jasmine (A field of Jasmine) and she is a liver and white tri colored springer. This picture was taken in the woods of Copper Harbor at Fort Wilkins. A squirrel was squealing and all the dogs looked over to see if they could see it. Awesome job dogs I got a good shot.
